No Need to Call 911

I recently had the pleasure of reading Malia Russell's book Chaos to Order: 25 Tools-Bringing Organization to Your Home, and it was wonderful. She generously donated the book for my silent auction benefit to support Autism Awareness on December 8th 2007. After skimming through the book, I decided to purchase the book for myself. This book is a very easy read, filled with 51 pages of experience and guidance from Gods Word, which is what sold me the most. A godly woman offering useful tips from years of experience with simple scripture to guide her. What more could you ask for? At the end of each tool, Malia offers her favorite website to gain more knowledge on the specific tool. She also has her own blog with useful tips!I have only been able to check out a few so far but the book will always be here and very useful. I plan to refer back to it often.

I have actually started utilizing one of the tools that I had not done before and that is freezing food. It seems so much food gets wasted and it makes me sick to think we could have fed some starving children or adults. I recently had a hysterectomy and some fellow church members brought my family food for the week following the surgery. Some members made way to much so we froze the food for my husband to use during lunch at work. I love the idea and plan on using it more and more. Since I work from home with my own schedule, freezing meals will be just another simple weekly project to add to my schedule. lol

Along with Chaos to Order, Malia has some other items that may be purchased on her website. She also offers conferences for groups at no charge within a reasonable distance.

I highly recommend this book for any women whether homemakers or Career Women. I think both could find some very good tips! Outstanding!

Story Time Felts

I was asked by Karen to review her product over a month ago. I'm so glad she has been patient with me, I don't know that I would have been so understanding? Karen sent me the Pirate Beware Toggle to be reviewed. One reason it has taken me so long is because I wanted the preschool teachers to evaluate the product along with myself. My son Connor who is four has autism and attends class with 6 other special needs children. The class has one teacher and 5 assistants. Yes, they need alot of attention and guidance. They also need time to play with the book I provided for them to review. LOL Friday is Connor's share day but many events kept interrupting his turn to bring in the Felt Book for sharing time.

The book was a big hit with everyone including my other children Brady and Caterina! Mrs. Garner thought the book was a very clever idea. She said the children enjoyed touching the felt and playing the treasure game included within the toggle. This book is great for getting the children into quiet mode. However, with my smaller children it requires supervision or the felt pieces could end up all over the house!

Along with Toggles, Story Time Felt has Felt Board stories including academic, biblical stories, plain felt boards and more. Contact Karen for help with your specific needs! or browse her site at www.funfelt.com The Story Time Felts could be used at school, Sunday School, VBS, while traveling and at home. I decided to give the Pirate Toggle to Connor's class since each child is special and the Felt would be taken care of and not lost in the couch or toy box.

This product is recommended for all families.

Little Snowbird Children's Tea

It is always a pleasure to be able to include my children when I work. My children are all under the age of six so it is sometimes difficult to include them all the time. My oldest enjoys helping dad make scent samples for my candle business. My youngest likes to sniff the candles whenever the new Candle of the Month arrives around the 5th of the month but it is never enough. They always want to do more! With that said, I was so excited to be able to do the review for Little Snowbird Children's Tea. Actually, I should say my children were very excited as they were able to drink some new flavors of tea.

I normally buy the Celestial Seasonings at my local Walmart. These teas do fairly well and come in a variety of flavors that my children love. With Little Snowbird we were able to experience some new and different flavors. We were sent Chocolate Cheesecake, Hot Fudge Sundae, and Strawberry Shortcake samples, one tea bag of each flavor. I was unsure how much one bag would make so I compared with what I normally make with the Celestial Seasonings. My children like Iced Tea so I boiled 2 quarts of water then added the one Strawberry Shortcake tea bag along with the Sugar. We don't use regular sugar but rather the generic sugar like Splenda (Altern). The strength of the tea was perfect and my biggest tea drinker (2 yr old) loved it. My son who is 6 loved it too. My 4 year old could care less but he is the Chocolate milk and juice drinker, rarely drinks tea unless it is all I have available. I normally have to use 2 tea bags with this amount of water with Celestial Seasonings so this tea makes more than my normal brand. This strength was actually stronger than what the children are used too so I decided to take it a little further and make one gallon with the next tea bag, chocolate cheesecake. This batch turned out to be the same strength with one bag as when I use 4 bags of the Celestial Seasonings. They did drink this batch a little slower so a happy median would be somewhere between 2 quarts and a gallon with one tea bag or even using one bag with the 2 quarts.

These teas were for small children but teas for older children and adults are available for purchase along with gift certificates. My children and I were very pleased with the samples we received and I highly recommend others giving Little Snowbird a try. We will be buying in the near future.

Avon

I signed up with Avon over a year ago to buy for myself and for gift giving at Christmas. I never had any intentions of working the business since my primary business with candles keeps me busy. Well, I let the time pass without buying anything from AVON so recently I paid my $10 fee to rejoin. My sponsor had always told me to buy the shampoo every other campaign so I would stay active. Well, I didn't but some exciting news, when signing up again recently I was able to receive the 50% off the first 4 campaigns as I did over a year ago. Nice perk with Avon!

During this recent signup I purchased the shampoo and another product I want to share with you today, the plump pout lip gloss! Lets start with the shampoo, it works wonderfully! I feel like I have been to the Salon every morning. I guess I should have listened to my sponsor. ha
I purchased the 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner which surprised me since I usually still have to use extra conditioner since my hair is so thick. My hair felt so clean and it combed through easily.

Ever since the popular lip augmentation for fuller lips craze began several years back, I have always wanted to make my upper lip fuller but never with surgery. lol forget that! I have purchased several plump pout lip glosses from other companies but I believe I will be using Avon from now on. The gloss comes in several shades and my favorite part is the paint type brush used to apply. All the others were a ball type and never did much for me. I feel like an artist now when I apply the lip gloss. It gives that stingy feeling when first applied like your lips are getting fuller and it last practically all day. I'm confident others will enjoy the lip gloss and shampoo once they haven given it a try.

Like I said earlier, Avon is not my business so please contact Lori for all your lip gloss and shampoo needs. Shop online at her Avon site.

One Group

I recently put together some friendship packages for some long time military friends from my past. The package included samples from other business owners including Kathy with One Group and some miessence hair and body samples.

Kathy sent some really nice samples for my packages so I asked her if I could give the products a try? The samples I tried were desert flower shampoo, shine herbal hair conditioner, and sunflower body wash. Florals are not my favorite scent and if you understand the effects of scents then you will understand why everyone picks certain scents when choosing candles, shampoos, or scented lotions. Smell is irrational. Smell affects us emotionally. When we detect an odor in the air, we decide if we like it before we even identify it. You can be going about your day one moment, and the next moment, be on the verge of tears—all because of a fragrance.

With that in mind, when I opened the desert flower, I wasn't impressed with the scent. However, the shampoo cleaned my hair very well. This was the second shampoo product I had used that was all natural indgredients. I highly recommend using natural products! I had been swimming all day so my skin had that yucky chlorine smell and feeling all over. Although, I didn't like the sunflower much either the body wash left my skin feeling fresh and clean.

I would use the products again! Learn more about the business opportunity at Kathy's site or contact her directly!

Usborne Books

Have you ever wanted to learn how to draw? Do you want your children to grow up reading? The books at Usborne are fun and educational! As a Mom and business owner, I do alot of networking and exchanging of products with other companies. It was my turn to shop from one of my fellow networkers, Stacy Olivas with Usborne Books. My sons birthday was approaching so I thought this would be perfect to add to his gifts.

As I was browsing Stacy's site, I came across this Book "I can draw animals". My first thoughts were, I have always wanted to learn how to draw! I ended up buying the "I can draw people" book along with a horse sticker book and dinosaur sticker book too. I never knew there were so many different kinds of horses! My daughter loves the stickers! My son and I have learned how to draw various types of animals including a lion, rabbit, frog, flamingo, and hen. We aren't even half way through the book. It is amazing what you can learn from putting lines and shapes together.

What I really love is the books are affordable! These drawing books were only $4.99 and I'm getting some use out of them too! If my son continues learning these simple techniques, he may just become the next van gogh. ha!

Usborne Books is also a business opportunity. Wow, get educated and make money at the same time! You don't hear that to often! Stroll on over to Stacy's site or contact her by email for more information.
